2019 Spring Camporee

WHY

To develop patriotism, to learn flag etiquette, a knowledge of the flag and a respect for our veterans.

To participate as troops in learning and growing together, to have fun, earn the American Heritage Merit Badge and have an exciting Rocket competition.

WHO

  • All Boy Scouts - boys have to be 12 before the end of  2019!

PRICE

  •   $7 per participant (Each Scout and adult advisor)

WHAT TO BRING

  • BOYS:  Health form (mandatory), coat or rain poncho, camp chair, overnight camp gear, gloves for service project.
  • UNITS: Overnight camp gear, place to build your fire on (BSA rules state that the fire MUST be 18" off the ground, small liquid fuel backpacking stove with fuel as a back-up in case fire restrictions are put in place last minute), water for your camp, water rocket supplies (you will be judged on design and other areas / please spend time on your rockets, you will be given very limited time to work on these, but you can have them built before you arrive at camp), Friday Dinner, Saturday Breakfast and Lunch, shovels for service project.
  • STAFF PROVIDES:  Program supplies (receipts), rocket base, flags to retire, cracker barrel, extra rocket supplies, program, music, service project supplies.

SCHEDULE

Friday:

  • 04:00 pm - Patrols may begin arriving. Please check-in at registration tables and set-up camps.
  • 06:00 pm - Dinner
  • 06:30 pm - Service project - Work on campfire rings for Bacon Park
  • 08:00 pm - Opening program at main flag pole, presenter and program TBA
  • 09:30 pm - Troop camps and fire
  • 10:00 pm - Boys at troop camps
  • 10:30 pm - Lights out

Saturday:

  • 07:00 am - Troop breakfast
  • 08:00 am - Flag ceremony at main flag pole
  • 08:30 am - Activities (about 25 minutes each, please refer to program)
  • 12:30 am - Troop lunch
  • 01:30 pm - ROCKETS! Will be judged on design and "blast off"
  • 03:30 pm - Closing ceremony and Campsite check-out

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Camp Rules and Instructions: Remember: This is a Scout Camp! All Scouts should live by and practice the Scout Oath and Law at all times.

  1. Heavy emphasis on Patrol Method.
  2. Clean-up campsites after the close of camp and please make sure that all garbage is taken with you.
  3. Lights out at 10:30 p.m. No boys should be out of their camp area after 10:00 p.m. Leaders please make sure that this is enforced.
  4. If an emergency occurs, please contact a member of the camp staff immediately.
  5. You must be having fun at all times. If not, see a leader. :)

Cancellation Policy
Refunds of fees requested at least two weeks prior to an event will be fully granted. No refunds are given if a registration is canceled or the number of attendees is reduced within two weeks of your scheduled event.
